In September 2019, City Council approved the Guelph. Future-Ready strategic plan. An ambitious plan with a vision to make Guelph a more inclusive, connected, prosperous city where we look after each other and our environment. This plan informs the City budget, which is the affordability tool that sets the pace for implementing the Future Ready Plan initiatives

But a plan is just a plan, it’s what we do next that matters.

So, we started updating how we measure and report on our progress. Being honest and open about our results is the only way we can get better and reach our aspirations.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve shared Guelph’s Future Ready Progress Report. The 2020 and 2021 digital progress reports were data-driven and results-focused. We added the City’s budget to make it easier to see how our investments align with City Council's and our community's goals. This is an important step toward becoming a more performance-oriented and data-driven organization.

Like in previous years, the 2022 Future Ready Progress Report is a balanced and comprehensive assessment of how we work to achieve our strategic goals. We highlight critical statistics and stories. Our focus on data and performance measurement helps our community understand the quality of our services while building trust and promoting accountability.

I am proud of all we have achieved this year. Indeed, I'm grateful to work with such talented, caring and dedicated public servants here at the City of Guelph.

We are in the final stages of the Future Ready journey. We are excited to share our stories and see the visible impacts we've had on our City. We are also looking forward to new growth opportunities as we report on our progress
